The Ultimate NZ Father's Day Gift Guide for 2024 - Whether you wanna spend $8 or $800

Yes, it's less than 2 weeks away, but no, you don't have to panic.

Why is it that dads are so notoriously hard to buy for?

If yours is anything like mine, he has answered the question of 'what do you want for Father's Day?' with 'nothing, just kindness' for the last 40 odd years.

A nice sentiment, sure, but it's not gonna cut it at the celebratory brunch when I show up empty handed.

Whether your dad is techy, a foodie, a guy who dresses to the nines or an outdoorsman - we got you covered.

Plus, we're giving you options from under 10 bucks right through to triple figures so you can put a smile on Dad's dial regardless of your budget.

Good One 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash - $8
This product is from The Warehouse's own body and beauty brand, and having tried their stuff - I can say it's seriously nice. The ingredients are natural and it's made in NZ, plus you get heaps of bang for your buck and it's very gender neutral. Usually I'd SWEAR off a 2-in-1 situation, but lots of guys love the convenience, and this one is packed with shea butter, mānuka honey and kawakawa extract - so I'll allow it.

Lush Kalamazoo Beard and Facial Wash - $16
If the father figure or baby daddy in your life loves his beard, chances are he'll be into this. It's got a zesty pineapple scent, and will refresh stubble and full-grown facial hair, no worries. It's got glycerin to draw moisture into the skin, plus apricot and almond oil to soften bristles and coarse hair.

H&H Canvas Overnight Bag Aotearoa - $35
A decent canvas bag is useful for just about anyone, and whether this Warehouse bargain goes with dad to the gym or a trip away, it's gonna be practical and stylish. Who doesn't want to be repping Aotearoa on their next Jetstar flight to Aus?

'The Life of Dai' by Dai Henwood - $39.99
We all know Dai Henwood is a national treasure, but there's a lot we don't know about the iconic funnyman. Dai's memoir covers off his epic 25-year comedy career, but is also a "profoundly uplifting" story of living with incurable cancer and "finding hope and joy in the face of unthinkable challenges". What a legend.

Endota Gift Card - $50 - $500
A little self-care moment goes a long way, and Endota (previously Forme Spa) has locations all over NZ to take a bit of time out. The great thing about their gift cards is they start as low as $50, and their express deep tissue and relax massage options are between $80-$90. If you're looking to splash a little more cash, you can suss dad a customised massage tailored to his needs, targeting the areas of stress and tension that bug him the most over 60-minutes of pure bliss.

JVC Headphones with Active Noise Cancelling - $119
I just added this bit of kit to the list for my dad this weekend, after he was nearly driven mad listening to mine and mum's wine o'clock chit-chat while trying to work in the next room.Enter the noise-cancelling headphones. These ones are reasonably priced from the Warehouse, but get reviews that say they're just as good (if not better) than some high-end brands. They boast super soft ear pads that mold to the natural shape of your ear for a custom fit, and have over 30 hours of battery life.

Crocs Dylan Clog - $119.99
As a recent convert to Crocs, I can't stop talking about how comfortable they are, but I still can't bring myself to the OG Crocs outside the house. If your dad is the same, this Dylan Clog style will give him all the lightweight, ergonomic goodness of Crocs without any of the cringe factor. They're made to mimic the look of genuine, full-grain leather mules, and come in six different colours.

Star Wars LEGO - TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up - $199.99
For the hobbyist dad who loves a bit of nostalgia, an afternoon building Star Wars LEGO (with you?) is nothing short of a dream. This set combines two iconic spacecraft from a galaxy far, far, away, but there are also Formula 1 race cars, an Emirates Team NZ yacht and heaps more builds dad will fizz over.

Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven - $799.99
This bit of kit isn't cheap, but it'll revolutionise dad's outdoor cooking game this summer. It's got 8 different settings, the most epic of them being the pizza oven. Not only does it come with a fancy pizza stone and peel, but it churns out artisan pizzas in just 3 minutes, infused with a smoky woodfire flavour you add with just a scoop of pellets and the push of a button. I've also used mine to roast a massive lamb shoulder to perfection in under 4 hours, but the old boy can use it as a dehydrator and a smoker, too.
