These two Kiwi guys are inventing powdered alcohol so we can take cocky-Ts camping this summer

You're no longer having to worry about bottles of booze spilling in your overnight bag.

Two Kiwi lads have set off on a mission to "revolutionise NZ’s alcohol industry" by making liquid-free cocktails.

Brayden and Conor, locals from Queenstown, call themselves 'The Unnamed Alcohol Project'. They're keen to make powdered alcohol for Kiwis to take on camping trips.

Being outdoorsy peeps themselves, they’ve been eager to make it easier for Kiwis to explore our big backyard with bevvies on hand.

Just two months ago, the boys admitted they had “no money, no supplies, and no idea how to do it.” Despite the odds, they're making it happen - and are taking us along for the ride.

A load of experimentation and a few broken blenders later, the guys eventually got on the right track.

Using a very high percentage of alcohol and tapioca maltodextrin, the boys finally found the winning concoction.

The lads now have a rough prototype sorted and say all you need is water, "no mixers', to turn the powder into a cocktail on the go. It's giving a whole new meaning to turning water into wine...

Brayden and Connor are well on their way to making their ‘what if’ project a reality - they’re looking into the legal process of getting their product on the shelves, and are even getting food scientists involved.

As highly requested by their 10,000 loyal followers across Instagram and TikTok, Pinacolada is the first flavour they’re keen to get out to us, but there’s still a loooong way to go.

The latest update shows the boys trying to make the powder "as light as possible". The guys are set on making a 50-gram pack of the stuff which is about 85% less than your usual bevvie can.

Good stuff. Out there doing the work for the people!
