'He's already my best friend': Dan updates us on loving life as a new dad

"It’s sort of like a pinch-yourself moment, I can't believe he's our baby.”

Over the weekend, Dan hard-launched his status as a new dad on Insta, sharing that his little boy, George, arrived early.

“George came into the world a bit earlier than expected on Friday, and we are so in love. Hanna is already the best mom, and I couldn’t be more proud.”

“Never have I felt so unprepared but so sure of something at the same time. Being a dad is the absolute best.”

This morning, the Edge Breakfast’s Meg Mansell and Clint Randell called Dan to see how he's adjusting to being a new dad, and his answer had us in tears.

“Yeah, look, it's the same, but also completely different. I was expecting it to absolutely love it, and I really, really do. I think it's been amazing.”

“I love being a dad, but there's a lot of things they don't tell you about. I didn't know that I was going to be peed on about five times over the last few days.”

Little George and Dan are already besties!

"It's just the overwhelming feeling of wanting to protect them with everything you've got, and it's a really amazing feeling, like they're your little person. He's already my best friend."

“He's already getting a personality, he's already smiling at dad, he's already frowning at dad…”

Meg and Clint were all smiles when Dan revealed his true thoughts on fatherhood.

"It's just one of those things that I have been waiting to do for a very long time, and now I'm doing it," he said. "It’s sort of like a pinch-yourself moment, like I can't believe he's our baby.”

“We made this little creature, and he's so incredible and amazing."

Congratulations to Dan and Hanna on their new parenting journey. We know that George is lucky to have you both!
