After a solid decade on the scene, the dating app known for letting only women make the first move has had a big change.
Going against their unique dating app concept, Bumble has announced today the app is opening up for men to start a convo.
But don’t worry gals, if you don’t want to F with the status quo, you will still be able hold on to your power to make the first move.
This new feature means you’ll be able to change your settings to allow men to initiate a conversation - but it’s not the default.
That's not the only change coming to the app. Following in the footsteps of Tinder and Hinge, Bumble is introducing 'dating intentions' badges to lay it all out there for your potential matches: Are you on the hunt for a life partner or just a casual thing?
The app will also show your common interests at the top of profiles as you swipe your way through.
What with all the changes you ask? Well, as we’re all aware it’s a rough out there in the world of dating - even the apps are struggling to stay in the game.
According to Bumble CEO Lidiane Jones, dating apps are working overtime “to stay relevant because singles have become burnt out” - amen!
Some are even turning to the likes of LinkedIn which has been proven to secure some solid dates over the apps.
If that’s not a bit of you, hopefully, this change might open a few doors to some new connections, as long as you can handle some cringey pick up lines.
